Valve Repairs, Custom Solutions & Collaboration
At Total Flow Control, we do more than simply supply valves. We work with our customers to assess existing equipment, identify problems and develop practical solutions that keep critical flow-control systems operating reliably.
From valve strip and assessments and repairs through to custom-built control systems and collaborative problem solving, our team can support both planned maintenance and challenging applications where an off-the-shelf solution may not be suitable.
Valve Strip & Assess
Replacing a valve isn’t always necessary. Our strip and assess service provides a detailed evaluation of the valve’s condition to determine whether repair or refurbishment is a practical and cost-effective option.
Valves can be stripped down and inspected for wear, corrosion, damaged components and other issues that may be affecting operation. From there, we can provide recommendations and pricing for the required repairs, replacement components or complete valve replacement where necessary.
Our assessment capabilities cover a wide range of industrial valves, including:
- Automatic control valves and PRVs

- Butterfly valves
- Ball valves
- Gate and globe valves
- Knife gate valves
- Check and non-return valves
- Plug valves
- Severe service valves
- Actuated valve assemblies
Valve Repairs & Refurbishment
Where repair is viable, our workshop can overhaul and refurbish valves using suitable replacement parts and components.
Depending on the valve and its condition, repairs may include replacement of seats, seals, diaphragms, packing, bearings, trim, pilots and other internal components, along with cleaning, reassembly, adjustment and functional testing.
Our goal is to return equipment to reliable operation while helping customers maximise the service life of their existing assets.
Custom Valve Solutions
Not every application can be solved by selecting a standard valve from a catalogue.
Total Flow Control can help develop custom valve and flow-control solutions based on the actual operating requirements of the system. This may involve modifying an existing valve, selecting alternative materials, developing a custom pilot system, integrating actuation and controls, or combining products from different manufacturers into a complete solution.
Our capabilities include custom:
- Pilot and control systems

- Valve and actuator packages
- Electric and pneumatic actuation
- Mounting brackets and adaptors
- Extension spindles and operating arrangements
- Positioners, solenoids and control accessories
- Instrumentation and flow measurement
- Material and trim selections
- Retrofit solutions for obsolete equipment
Collaboration & Problem Solving
Some of the best solutions come from working together.
We regularly collaborate with customers, contractors, consultants, manufacturers and specialist suppliers to solve difficult flow-control applications. By combining site knowledge with product expertise and manufacturer support, we can investigate the complete application rather than simply supplying another valve.
This approach is particularly valuable when dealing with obsolete equipment, unusual operating conditions, space restrictions, cavitation, pressure control, automation requirements or applications where standard products have previously failed.
Where required, we can work with our local and international manufacturing partners to develop a solution specifically suited to the application.
Repair, Replace or Redesign
Sometimes repairing the existing valve is the best solution. Sometimes replacement makes more sense. In other cases, the original valve or system design may be contributing to the problem.
Our approach is to help determine the most practical option based on the condition of the equipment, application requirements, availability of spare parts, downtime, lead time and overall cost.
Whether you have a valve that needs an overhaul, obsolete equipment requiring a replacement, or a challenging application that needs a completely different approach, Total Flow Control can help develop a solution.
